Old Cove Fort is located in Southern Utah. It was founded in 1867 and is built from volcanic rock and limestone, both quarried from the nearby mountains. The fort provided a way station for travelers along the Mormon Corridor. The fort is a square, 100 feet on each side with 18 foot walls and twelve interior rooms. It was closed in the late 1890’s and restored in 1989.
